It’s that time of the month again, juice DETOX time! I already told you guys in my little review of the Urban Monkey Juices that I like to detox for a day or two every month because it helps with my stomachaches. I’m lactose and gluten intolerant so after every few weeks I need a day or two to regenerate. This month I tried the juices from Rauch Juice Bar and obviously I’m going to report back to you guys!
The difference between this detox and the one I did last time is that I didn’t actually get the big headaches. I drank a lot of water and tea in the evening time so it felt like I’m constantly hydrated. Naturally around dinner time I started to get a little frustrated and I wanted to “chew” something which is why I opted for some watermelon. Watermelon is a really good option if you’re doing some sort of cleanse because it’s basically water BUT you still get to “chew” something.
#1 King Kale – Kale, Apple, Spinach, Lemon and Ginger
Very delicious juice! You can taste the apple the most so it’s really refreshing!
#2 Veggie Wake Up – Apple, Celery, Red Beet, Ginger and Fennel
Okay… this has nothing to do with Rauch Juice Bar BUT I literally cannot stand red beet! I had to skip these just as I had to skip the ones from Urban Monkey Juice. If anyone can make me a Red Beet juice that I don’t find repelling – you are so welcome to!
#3 Green Detox – Spinach, Brokkoli, Gurken, Rucola and Pineapple
Refreshing – your typical green juice. If I had to chose I would definitely go for King Kale though! I just prefer the sweeter tastes!
#4 Adonis – Carrots, Pomegranate, Orange and Koriander
Loved it! Orange was the dominating taste here! It most certainly flushes out everything you got going on inside your body which I think has something to do with Koriander! 😀
#5 Greenwich – Chard, Spinach, Celery and Apple
Again, I can see how this is essential for the cleanse. (Not my fave taste wise and) By this time around I started to feel super hungry so this is when I ate the watermelon. Out of all the green juices my favourite (flavour wise) is still King Kale!
#6 Almond Bliss – Almond milk, Vanilla and Banana
Needless to say this is my all-time favourite. It basically tastes like a banana shake. Talk about save the best for last, ey?! I would actually drink this on a daily!
This was honestly not that bad! I though the second day will be a toughie but it turned out to be easy! I think that because these juices are freshly squeezed and more like smoothies they are a lot more filling than the ones from Urban Monkey. I drank my juices for 2 days every 2/3/4 hours (sometimes I just didn’t feel like drinking every 2 hours however it is recommended). I drank almost 3 liters of water in one day so naturally that meant going to the toilet about 1000 times. Prepare!
All in all I didn’t have any stomachaches during these 2 days! I definitely felt hungry but after the detox I realised that I started to eat smaller portions. My stomach gets with the show – so if I eat less for a while I also feel full a lot sooner!
The juices from Rauch Juice Bar are very delicious/refreshing and I have to mention that I truly appreciate the way Rauch interacts with their bloggers. I feel very well treated AND Martin, the lovely guy who works at Rauch Juice Bar in Wien Mitte actually googled me so he’d know what I looked like when I went to pick up my freshly squeezed juices. Talk about A quality service! 😀
If you’re looking for some delicious shakes you needn’t look any longer ma friend because Rauch Juice Bar has a few of my absolute favourites! My TOP favourite is “Vanilla Dream” made of Milk, Raspberries, Banana, Bourbon-Vanilla and Honey.Literally THE BEST SHAKE EVER!
What do you guys think about juice detox?? Do you guys think it works?
