Working Out From Home – My New Cross Fitness Obsession

I didn’t know how much I would love to work out from the comfort of my own Home until I got my sexy Crosstrainer from MaxTrader . Because I often work long hours I usually found it super difficult to motivate myself to get dressed, pack my stuff and then make my way to the gym after I’ve already worked for 12 hours… I also hated leaving my dog home alone for longer than necessary. How working out from home changed so much, my little motivation tricks, playlist ,work out routine, a closer look at my Crosstrainer AND much more all coming at you in todays post. Happy Work Out Sunday guys!

Skandika CardioCross Carbon Champ

Crosstrainer

Woah that’s a mouthful! Up until I actually, physically got my Crosstrainer delivered I didn’t really know what to expect. You assume that at home gym equipment would feel rather cheap and be all plastic etc. however the Skandika Crosstrainer is none of the above because it’s literally gym quality! It’s got this sleek design, makes virtually no noise, works super smooth and just feels super expensive even though it’s not! (You can currently get it on SALE over HERE for less than half the price it usually retails for!)

So what are the hard facts?

The Skandika CardioCross Carbon Champ Crosstrainer (I just wanted to say it again sorry 😀 ) has a noise reduced break system which basically means you can stop moving in the middle of your work out without any loud noise coming from it. The movement itself (when working out) barely even makes any noise at all. It works from 10 to 350 Watt, the stepping distance is 457 mm and the resistance levels go from 1 to 32. If you’re training for something professionally level 32 would definitely be “enough” for you I’d say. Personally I like to do a resistance level of 15 to 20 TOPS and this is me sweating my a$$ off because it’s really tough!

It also has an iPad and Smartphone holder which is really handy when I work out with music or am in the middle of a gossip session with my best friend. It’s got a USB charging station so you can always charge your phone/tablet/ipad while working out. It’s pretty big (1.660 x 560 x 1.630 mm) BUT you can easily fold it in half and stow it somewhere in the corner. I stow mine in the guest bathroom… feels normal no? 😀 The Crosstrainer weighs 70 Kgs (it’s got rolls though so you can move it around super easily) and it can take up to 150 kgs.

All in all I can definitely say this Crosstrainer is AS good if not better than all the Crossfitness trainers I’ve ever used in gyms. If you want to have some good equipment that lasts you for a long time I definitely recommend spending a little bit more (of course you can buy a Crosstrainer for 150€ but how long is it going to last you for?) and have it for years!

My Motivation

When I get home I know for a fact that if I want to work out I don’t need to calculate 2 hours for getting to and back from the gym because it literally takes 30 mins. I get into my gym clothes, hop on and off I go! I usually mix myself some water with freshly squeezed lemon juice and put it in the fridge to drink after.

My work outs usually last from 30 to 40 minutes depending on my current motivation level. I either put it to “Advance” or “Cardio” and increase the resistance until it’s noticeably hard but still doable without popping a muscle or two. That’s usually a good rule to go by. 😀

I used to feel bad when I came home from work and my dog was home alone AND then I left again to go to the gym. Since I have my crosstrainer that problem is no longer! I can have an eye on my dog while working out which is HUGE! He’s usually playing in the garden or sits beside me during the 30-40 minutes I work out for. It’s definitely one of the biggest advantages of having a Crosstrainer at home for me!

I sometimes motivate myself by putting on one of my favourite series, usually ones that last from 30 to 45 minutes, and then work out exactly as long as one episode takes. Any time I feel like i can’t do it anymore I just look at the screen and think to myself “only 15 minutes left”. It really does help! Sometimes I don’t even notice how quickly 40 minutes are over because all I really do is watch TV mainly and work out so to say on the side.

A good music playlist is also super important! The cool thing is you can actually listen to music super loudly on a speaker because HELLO, you’re in your own living room! OR you can use your earphones to get some concentrated music intake! Which leads me to my next point…

Work Out Playlist

Ariana Grande – Side To Side ft. Nicki Minaj

DJ Khaled – Wild Thoughts ft. Rihanna, Bryson Tiller

Sllash – Now Or Never

Astro – Caribbean

Shamir – On The Regular

French Montana – Unforgettable ft. Swae Lee

Chris Brown – Questions

Lauv – I Like Me Better

TOPIC – HOME ft. Nico Santos

Maroon 5 – What Lovers Do ft. SZA

Dua Lipa – New Rules

Drake – Too Good Ft. Rihanna

I kid you not when I say I’m currently obsessed with it! It’s so cool because I can work out whenever I randomly feel like it! If it’s raining outside and I’m slightly bored I can just get on it for 20-30 minutes and feel like I’m at least doing something! 😀 I think there are so many benefits to having this Crosstrainer I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t go and get themselves some sort of at home gym equipment!

I’m currently eyeing THIS sexy spinning bike also from Skandika and also available on Max Trader . I think you can do a lot of fun spinning cycles from the comfort of your own home AND you can look for some spinning work outs on youtube to get yourself pumped up!

Wishing everyone a sporty Sunday,

Shanice xo
